The Venue

Where is Freezer Burn this year?

The exact location, with directions for those coming from Calgary or Edmonton, is emailed to all ticket buyers a few days before the event. We send it to the email address you provide when you buy your tickets.

In the meantime, here’s what we can tell you about the space: Freezer Burn will be held on private land, a 1000 acre ranch near Ponoka in the Battle River valley.

Is there cell phone coverage at the site? Yes, but you will have to provide your own power for charging.

How accessible is the site for my vehicle? There is a bit of a hill to go down at the venue so cars, trucks, campers, and trailers are fine if you’re reasonably experienced at driving with one. Anything much bigger than that might be tricky, especially in the event of rain and the mud that follows.

What else is there? There are porta-potties. There is a river down in the valley; it gets to around five feet deep at the deepest sections with many shallower spots so please keep an eye on children at all times. No peeing in the river please! People and livestock need to drink it downriver.

Are there hookups for my RV? Electricity or running water? Showers? Food vendors? The answer to all of these questions is no. Please see the Survival Guide page for more information on our Radical Self-Reliance Principle.
